Villa Lysis, Amori et dolori sacrum

Villa Lysis is dreamy and extremely decadent.. being built 1905 by French Count Jacques d'Adelsward Fersen. it's have inspiration from classic temples, but you can also recall Klimt, Olbrich and the "Viennese secession", and the decorative details of the handrail of the staircase are in true Art Nouveau style.. the house even have an opium den in the basement where Fersen committed suicide 1923. with cocaine..

death says..

enjoy life whilst you can (with wine and water!), death is always lurking around the corner.

la casa rossa

apparently the inscription above the door says something (my greek is not really what it should be.. and not sure why it's in greek either..) like this:

-"Greetings thy citizen of this inactive town"

since being here, i don't think it's meant as an insult at all..

Villa san Michele and Axel Munthe, Capri

I'm lucky enough to be in Capri for a couple of weeks, due to a work grant I have received. It's beautiful and very inspiring. Last time I was here I was nine years old and I'm so excited by this revisit. Staying at the guest houses of Villa san Michele, which is just fantastic, Axel Munthe's life and work is truly extraordinary.

more to come from capri..

London again

A quick stop in London before Capri. Little slash took me to Dennis Sever's house in Spitafields for an unusual museum experience. It's kind of real still life, very detailed, trying to capture the moods of that dominated the periods between 1724 and 1914. A bit bonkers but different!

Dalarö Bageri

I have worked on concept and interior design for Dalarö Bageri together with Therese Szatek and True and it's starting to come together.. With really nice (and cheap!) coffee it's a real treat. and the bread is amazing too, well worth a visit.

"Autarky" is a clever project from Formafantasma, the products are naturally desiccated or low temperature baked from a bio-material composed of flour (!) agricultural waste and limestone.

also enjoyed the new design design area Lambrate where a lot of the talented dutch designers exhibited. hope it will continue the next coming years..

Richard Wilson @ Saatchi Gallery

The Saatchi Gallery have re-created the permanent installation of Richard Wilson in their new Gallery by Sloane Square and OMG it's cool. This time you are not allowed walking down the extended walkway which is a shame. However, the oil filled room creates a fantastic optic mesmerising illusion..
